Deslaurier is hiring! We’re currently seeking a Receptionist to work out of our location in Ottawa, Ontario.

Job Description:

  • respond to Deslaurier telephone inquiries, and direct calls as required on a 6-line system
  • introduce customers to the selection showroom and offer product information
  • address customer concerns
  • receive and organize company mail
  • arrange for couriered deliveries
  • order general office supplies, wood sample supply, show room supplies, and customer appreciation gifts
  • records daily traffic, incoming cheques, petty cash receipts
  • maintain product inventory
  • general administrative duties (faxing, scanning, printing, data entry, edit and proof reading, conference room assistance )
  • ensure tidiness of selection and show room
  • responsible for heating and cooling maintenance
  • negotiation maintenance contracts
  • other duties as assigned by manager


  • minimum grade 12 diploma with one year of general office/reception experience
  • strong, demonstrated skill level in MS Office applications (word, excel, outlook and power point)
  • excellent overall technical ability – able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
  • flexible with the ability to deal with multiple/changing priorities
  • confident with phone systems, copiers and POS systems (credit card)
  • exemplary interpersonal skills and professionalism
  • possess excellent communication, time management and customer service skills
  • display friendly mature disposition, positive attitude and initiative
  • bilingualism is an asset
